The good news is, If all goes to plan, I am likely to buy one of these within the next 6 months.

Yeah. I sat in one at my local dealer and loved it. I am still stick between a slightly used one of these, an R8 with a manual, a new gen Viper, or a 997 Turbo (manual of course). The only thing pushing me away from the GT is the lack of pedals.

Drive them all if you have to. R8 is ok, I’ve driven a manual v10, fast off the line then kinda meh, sounds ok but not great. 997 is good of course, but I personally feel that the GT has it beat, but admittedly I don’t like the feel of the rear engine when going through corners at speed, but mid doesn’t bother me one bit. Haven’t driven the latest viper though. I also don’t give two shits whether a car has three pedals or not, I would rather concentrate on my line and the road ahead since I’m no professional driver and at this performance level I could get in trouble real fast with yet another thing to worry about. But 100hp shitbox? I’ll take the stick.

I agree about the pedal thing when I am tracking the car, but whatever I end up with will be a 98% of the time street car.
I’ve driven a DCT R8 V10 o the track, tracks horribly (IMO) as well as a 997 Turbo S PDK, which tracks amazingly. but for a weekend driver I could do either.
